I think I figured out a compromise between PS4 and xbone players

Not to flame the subject cause it's been talked to death, but I've never spoken my say on the matter so I'll bite. Speaking strictly as the consumer a fair non impactful to the player scenario would be to have Playstation exclusive items that never come to XBOX at all and they would not be high end items. No exotics. No top tier legendary's and definitely no actual game content. From the business side of course that would mean there is no actual game playing bonus to play on Playstation over XBOX, so a deal wouldn't yield its returns as its intended. Therefore it'd be pointless.

The balanced compromise between player and business would be more in the area of a 3 month timed exclusivity.

The Playstation exclusive is what it is though, but the red bull stuff was stupid. I hope there are no more deals like the red bull one. They also absolutely need to stop the practice of exclusive items in updates. That's completely morally bankrupt. As Bungie put it, the live team updates are funded from Microtransactions. So those projects are player funded and not Sony or Red Bull. How they think it's not devoid of morals to have exclusive items in a update that came from direct player funding is beyond explanation. The Sony exclusive is a tap on the cheek, but the update exclusives are a total shit on the face to every XBOX player that bought a emote. Your emote purchases helped pay for Playstation players Zen sniper and how Activision or Bungie think that's okay is mind blowing. That's got to be the biggest punch in the gut a video game has ever done. I feel bad for those XBOX players that did/do buy emotes. I still have my free silver and I'll never use it. I'm not participating in the paying for emotes business model, but under these circumstances I never in a million years would. I have a PS4 but chose to play shooters on XB1 for preferences.

It would be nice if the 1yr deal with Sony is just for vanilla and there's a renegotiation for Destiny 2 and Bungie demands something more friendly in consideration of all their players, but I doubt that very much. Activision gets no benefit of the doubt from me and Bungie gets very very little and zero trust. Part of me wants to believe that since this was a new IP they had to give a lot in order for Sony to agree to write a check. But It could very well be that Sony had a check cut, but Activision wanted more so they gave up more to get it. I really do enjoy the game, but this game maybe has the worse business practices I've seen. "Such a shame" in my Shaxx voice
