I think I might know what it is.

As I said in a previous comment, it is likely that someone was attempting to update with the intent of stating it would be available worldwide by the 12th. (They certainly don't want to advertise a 9th release for the world when only the North American region has that date.) Notice that there is a period followed by "and" in small case? To me it is reminiscent of writing something in one program and copy/pasting it but part of the text did not get placed. Since this clear and obvious writing error made it through, it's likely no one noticed it didn't make sense and would cause people to speculate. A tad bit of proof reading before submitting would have cleared it right up.

Taking this into consideration I can only assume we are getting the game on the 9th and "worldwide" by the 12th. Likely a simple mistake at the end of a workweek that no one noticed or even cared to look at. HG, Sony and Steam are saying nothing because there simply is nothing to say. Somebody messed up and no one noticed because nothing is out of place for the release date. It's just us, interpreting a grammatical error as the end of the world. Come Monday, and maybe sooner, someone will set this straight.
