IAMA: Bridesmaid for a (17 hr) Wedding. How do I survive?

I probably should've mentioned this in the OP, but I get really anxious and feel out of place at social gatherings, even with people I've spent countless of times with. And with her, it's only been a few occasions outside of work, so I'm not all that comfortable, especially when I don't willingly go out very much socially. So I wanted to wrap my head around how to last throughout the wedding and prepare myself before that day comes! It may not even be as bad as I may think, but I'm worried so here I am. I also learned from posting here that long hour weddings are quite normal -- I just never heard of that before so it shocked me until now, and I've accepted it's going to take all day.

The question of backing out came into the picture, but I originally posted for advice on how to get through it. It's my first time attending a wedding as a bridesmaid and I may seem skittish and selfish but I'm really trying to come to terms with it beforehand b/c I'm the type who worries to be at the wrong place even with the right directions.
