Symptoms disappeared which to me has been a godsend. The TheravaxHSV-2 vaccine is designed to reintroduce the body to HSV-2 in a more-controlled manner using a live-viral vaccine. This live-viral vaccine has attenuating mutations which slows the replication process of HSV-2 thereby slowing down the immune evasion strategies while simultaneously exposing the host to the full complement of HSV-2’s 75 viral proteins. As a consequence, it is the intent of the vaccine to expose the individual’s immune response to the HSV-2 proteins it may have been “missing” in order to effectively control the disease. I mentioned above that I did try Valtrex and it was effective to an extent but also hard on my body, particularly my liver at times which would cause me to have to stop.

Shedding studies will likely be conducted in upcoming trials, mine did not contain one, but it is important to note that Rational Vaccines is also designing a PREVENTATIVE vaccine for HSV 1&2, that while not trialed in humans yet, has been trialed and proven effective in animal studies.

Whether or not this technology will make humans unable to transmit the virus entirely is yet to be determined, but the fact that it's showing to be able to eliminate the human suffering caused by the disease is incredible, and will likely take a huge chunk out of the stigma of a virus that billions around the world carry.
