IAmA Police Officer in Northern England

How do you feel about the current knife laws in the UK? Personally as a knife enthusiast I think that they are up strict. Knifes can be used sensibly as tools. Just because people use them to hurt others doesn't mean that the tool should be banned. If I was in a gang, which I'm not, I wouldn't care if they were legal or not and would just grab a kitchen knife. But then there'se irl who wants a £200 knife to use as a daily tool but can't due to knife restrictions that hurt me and others more than criminals.

Also should locking blades be legal in your opinion? I think so because I doubt it would make it easier to stab someone but would make it safer for the user to actually use it as a tool.
