I'd like to get a network engineer's perspective on this career move

It would require me to move about 2 and a half hours away from where I am now. That's also an issue for me as I would not stomach that commute for long. I have novice Linux skills already, as I mentioned in an earlier comment, but I wonder if that would be enough to benefit me if I decide to just stay here and push for CCNP plus a more network centered job.

I've stood up a DNS cluster before with Unbound and BIND. Unbound servers serving as recursive/caching DNS and point to the BIND servers for the organizations authoritative records. I also recently deployed SNMPv3 to all of a companies Linux/Cisco gear using Ansible/Netmiko.
