I'd like to talk about what I think has gone wrong with racing games. Everything is handed to players on a platter.

No I played it for at least 15 hours and did plenty in the career mode but it was just like Project Cars. Start low, win a few, you're given the next car. Rinse repeat. There was no sense of progression. You win you get bumped up and get a few options for other cars. You pick your car then do the same thing. I never felt stuck I never felt like if I came in 3rd a few times then I could buy some upgrades to make my car better to win. It was just win or lose. It was boring. A thousand times more boring than any other racing game with at least a decent progression track. I didn't want to sound mean but you really don't seem to understand the problem with racing sims especially on PC. They are boring and give no sense of progression, no way to bump my car up just a bit to capture first place. Thats what I loved about Grand Turismo. I could lose over and over again never quite reach first, but after coming in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th I could finally make my car worthy of first place. Then once I made it to first I'd have to do it over and over to make enough money to bump myself up. Not only did I need to make the money I had to prove I could make it to the next series by getting my license. The harder ones would take so many tries that my thumbs felt like they were about to bleed. That is what I want. I want to push myself, I want to feel like throwing my controller at the tv, I want to feel like I'm not worth of the next bump up. Racing sims DO NOT capture that emotion. Just because I won the last series doesn't mean I'm worthy of the next. I want a real challenge, I want to feel like I'm a shitty driver until I know ever fucking corner of the track. Asseto Corsa and Project Cars is garbage when you want to feel like a driver, they hand you whatever you want whenever you want. IT. IS. BORING.
