I think your opinion is valid, but I actually don't like this.

The actual way problems are solved in practice is: "I'm going to think about this and meet with some experts and get back to you next week." Nobody, in any sort of white collar/decision-making job just goes with what they think of in two seconds.

The rapid fire nature of debates and AMAs promote silly, rapid fire answers like "we'll cut taxes no matter what" and "we'll spend more no matter what."

I want the candidates to take the question and have some time to think about a plan that might actually come close to working in practice. That plan is going to involve some spend and also some concession that parts aren't important enough to tax people over, and it's going to need some time to explain to both sides.
