IDDQD Boycotts Ranked for the near future

Honestly, with the amount of players that have left high elo, it kinda makes sense that the veterans in high elo complain about low quality games as of late. With so much skill leaving the ladder, the ones filling in those spots are just not as good.

Why do people only ever talk about high elo players complaining about the quality of games?

This problem is all over the ladder and just as bad in the lower ranked regions.

I could not see the video (didn't show for me) but I assume he's talking OTPs and people unable/ unwilling to switch to what is needed in this team oriented game.

This is anecdotal, but let me tell you my little story:

I'm playing since the beta, always was filling to what is needed and eventually ended up a healer/ tank main that way. Back then it was fun, since people played for the win so everyone did contribute to the match.

I was 63 in S1, diamond throughout all seasons until the end of season 4, when I did get hit by a bad streak of leavers/ griefers/ throwers and dropped down to mid plat.

I thought, it would be no problem, I just would grind out of it again at the start of the new seasons/ during my placement matches.

Unfortunately, I had leavers in 4 of my placements, lost some more due to people just "playing what they want" and ended up mid gold. Around 1k SR below where I used to play before mostly.

In season 5, I was unable to get out of gold (around 500 matches played). For every game I've won there were 3 games where I ended up as solo healer or solo tank with 5 squishy DPS.

In season 6, I again had my placements filled with leavers/ throwers and people overall not giving a flying fuck about anything. I won 1 out of 10 games....and got placed mid gold again.

I'm back now to high plat and climbing but the fear is real.

The fear that comes with OWs matchmaking. Will my team pick a tank when I pick healer (or healer when I pick tank). Will my team react to the enemy Pharmercy?

I'm not gonna lie here, my main struggle in most of my games is the following question: which role/ hero should I cover?

Should I cover the only tank, the only healer or the only hitscan that can deal with Pharah/ Pharmercy. It's pretty much absurd how less the rest of my team is caring most times.

I had so many games where people were playing through the full game as Genji, Tracer, Junkrat, Sombra, Hanzo and getting eaten alive by the enemy Pharmercy and Winston, yet no one switched. Ever. ...and this just doesn't make any sense in a competitive environment.

I'm saying this since season 3, when I started to notice that more and more people stopped caring, that Blizzard needs to take actions.

I'm no game designer, I have no idea what they possibly could do, but at least...they should do something.
