The idea that someone is fine with lgbt people as long as "they don't show it off" is so frustrating because it pretty much covers every aspect of being lgbt. Also straights don't know anything about lgbt people

I mean.. ok, maybe. But don't you think part of the reason people are so quick to label you folks "snowflakes" has a point when you just rush to call me a homophobe? I joined this sub and have been reading and not commenting for months.. really trying to better understand because there are a number of people in my life who happen to be gay and 1 who is trans. Something I've noticed is you tend to be extremely hostile towards folks who aren't dedicating their life to "being an ally"? You had no reason to be rude to me. I pointed out that flaunting sexuality make people uncomfortable, gay or straight. Your immediate response is to call me a homophobe.

Look inward.
