Why is the idea of talking to a therapist considered valid advice?

I think that men and women have different mental health needs and that psychology as a field is very female centric. A lot of women here recommend therapy because they don't know any better/don't care that it's actively fucking men over(see: 'teach men not to rape' breeding betas scared of their own dicks).

Women it seems to me are more able to talk a problem down so to speak and from there work on fixing it, whereas men I've known only alleviate the stress by fixing the problem, any attempts to make the problem less than the dragon they think it is are met with hostility.

I'm just not sure it's a productive path in most men to making SMP related feelings go away. In my view you won't find an anti-depressant and counseling cocktail that makes you not a 27 year old walmart cashier.
