Fundamentalism doesn't want rights for homosexuals or "females" on either side of the country. If the people on top were about protecting others and not just making themselves feel powerful even though they're just cosplaying, we wouldn't be having problems.

All those people who want to "protect others" as you seem to think, would be marching alongside protests to protect them from police, they would be marching on Washington and demanding justice for Americans being killed on the street for no reason. They would be demanding anti-lynching bills and equal rights for gay marriage.

They are not doing this. They are letting their kids go murder people who annoy them.
