For your follow up question, yes! People of all ages do things like cross the road without looking when they believe it would be safe to do so if the drivers are following the laws of the road. Do I think it’s smart to do so? No! Do I fault them because they expected the rules of the road to be obeyed? No!

Don’t blow through stop signs or red lights and then blame the person you killed for not paying attention when you decided your time was worth more than their life.
