This is rough with Covid, but maybe once we get out of this you can take this advice. Take the bus. Use the time you save by not driving yourself to train yourself more valuable skills.

Like every day ride the bus and learn shit that will help you get compensated more. Then interact with those communities that you are learning about. Join the sub reddits, find locals in the field, make friends with them, bother them, tell them you are one of them, be convincing. After this ask them to show you to their boss and interview you. If you don’t get the job ask them why and make that solving that your new problem on your bus rides. Do this until you can break in.

Or just suck it up work the shit job or quit and protest for UBI while dwindling the resources you got from the shit job.

These are all viable options.
