‘If anyone can hear us … help.’ Puerto Rico’s mayors describe widespread devastation from Hurricane Maria

Razor12323, this isn't directed at you, just a general observation about reddit and people before you that had begun posting about US education.

What I don't understand about these threads is how we're on here, trying to find information about what's happened in Puerto Rico and to the people that live there, and how we can help, and they always turn into some bullshit about American education.

If anyone really wanted to learn, do what many all over the world do, and look things up on Wikipedia. It's right there. Search Wikipedia, Puerto Rico, and it says right there they are citizens of the US.

A person could take a history course every year for their entire life and still only know one percent of the history of the world. Or if we're discussing the devastation in the Florida Keys or the Caribbean, do we have to talk about how some people didn't pay attention in school and don't know what a hurricane is?

So I guess I'm asking, can we stay focused on Puerto Rico, or for that matter, what has just happened to our neighbors in Mexico regarding the earthquakes?

It just seems like American education should be discussed in another forum, and not take up the entirety of this thread. And now I'm done with my rant. Apologies.
