If we are being reported..

Thank you for your kind words. Through all of this though she has the will to live and I don't. I don't understand it.

As far as voices, she told me that after going on an insane rant on her ex-husband's front porch she was driving to Walmart when she heard the voice of Areosmith's Steven Tyler speak to her. Then she went into Walmart grabbed a lighter, asked for a pack of cigarettes, threw down $3.00 and said "That's all I have" and then exited the store but not before grabbing a rack full of clothing a pushing out of the into the parking lot. Thus resulting in a felony shoplifting charge (if she just walked out with the cigs and the lighter she would have been okay, Walmart doesn't prosecute thefts that amount to less than $25.00).

After being stopped by police she got out of her car and started screaming at the officers and then charged them and shoved them and was promptly taser-ed. As one officer explained to my brother, "As soon as she got out of that car she was lucky she wasn't tase-ed in the face."

This all led up to her daughter's college graduation. What should have been such a happy and proud time for her, she pretty much ruined for everyone. I cannot tell you how many times she has gone off of her meds, knowing what the results are. Must be at least 25 times. I know she has an illness but there is an element of "crazy like a fox" going on here too (trust me).

I'm not telling you this to make you feel worse or to give you a depressing story. She gets her care for free and gets a pretty generous disability check every month and was also receiving alimony payments on top of that for several years. She is pretty well taken care of.

In my depths I used to envy her. Her treatments and meds are all covered by Medicare. I used to lie awake at night and think of all the privacy, time, money and tools she had at her disposal in order to end it. I know that sounds twisted, but its how I felt.

But no, being "committed" is almost non-existent now. I don't think you have to worry. It's expensive and complicated and our government just doesn't care about the mentally ill.

I'm sorry you are in the state that you are in. I really am. Thank you for your kind reply.
