If you are moving into your first place, what are the important things to bring with you or to purchase?

Scissors. I use scissors about ten times a day to cut open food packets. But I always forget where I put it so I'm always looking for it. I would definitely recommend trying to move into a furnished place although those are more expensive buying a bed and a tv and tables and chairs and kettle and toaster and fridge also turns out to be expensive. So furnished is probably the cheaper option in the long-term. I like to buy in bulk so I always some food in the cupboard, even if it's just a lot of pasta, a lot of coffee etc. My first apartment I ever had was really nice, I remember the walls were yellow. It was an extremely quiet place in a quiet street but was still very central very near the shops, libraries, restaurants etc. I remember the first night I slept there I heard squirrels barking in the tree next to my window. However that was the only time I heard them barking in the night, maybe they were excited about my arrival. After that I never heard them barking in the tree at night during the 3 years I stayed there. Once I ate porridge on the porch and a squirrel came up to me and sniffed my feet, decided I smelled rather dangerous and ran up the tree with another squirrel. I was very fortunate with that apartment, it was cheap too, but it was a rather lonely place for an 18 year old. I would go home and just stare at the walls. It got better after I got a TV , that gave me something to do with my time in the apartment.
