If we arent allowed to worship false Gods then why do Catholics pray to saints?

I remember reading that in scripture

Also this isn’t directly related to what you’re presently asking about, but another thing to keep in mind going forward with other questions you may have regarding various aspects of various sects of Christianity is that Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Quakers, etc. (and in fact all Christians before the historically recent Protestant reformation) do not follow a doctrine called “sola scriptura”. Sola scriptura is a very modern invention in theology, which says that we should exclusively consult the Bible alone when it comes to any particular religious matter.

People brought up in Protestantism are usually astounded when they learn that there’s a type of Christian who does not exclusively go by “the Bible alone”, but it is in fact the Protestants (with exception to certain sects like the Quakers) who are the odd ones out when it comes to this.

Most other Christian churches, and certainly the oldest ones such as Catholicism and Orthodoxy, also utilize all sorts of extra philosophical and theological works, not to mention stuff like monastic practices, throughout the years.
