If a bully victim uses every possible solution to stand up to a bully but it doesn’t work, should they resort to violence knowing they may get suspended? Why or why not?

I'm 29 years old and I never dealt with bullying. Last week I was with my older cousin (father of 2) and I offered to stand outside where the bus drops his oldest son (8 years old) off. His son knows me very well and has the coolest nickname for me (Cool Dude, his nickname as well) No joke, he fuckin charges at me shouting my nick name with arms wide open for a fuckin super hug. It's incredible! Anyways, my first time standing outside waiting for him to step off of the bus, I'm stoked. I'm thinking he's gonna get off the bus, shout Cool Dude and come charging at me and every kid and adult gets to see how fuckin awesome this kid thinks I am. NOPE!!!! He stairs at the ground the whole way to me, walking slowly. I can see it in his face that something happened. He gets to me and I hug him asking what happened. He instantly starts crying right in my arms. I want to keep him next to me and talk to him but I know if I were him I would want my parents for comfort so I get him to his parents. He was getting bullied on the bus by other kids. This kid is such a great dude. He's so smart and enthusiastic about his interests but he's smaller so kids pick on him. I will be honest, I kinda blew off the whole bullying thing since I never dealt with it myself as a child and since I don't have kids but that moment fuckin sucked and I was soooo pissed. That moment was a hard reality and really made me understand just how real it is. Kids do not deserve to come home crying because other kids suck!! LONG LIVE MY LITTLE BUDDY, COOL DUDE!!

Sorry for such a long story and probably bad grammar.
