If you can't say something nice . . .

The point of this post is very general about being constructive and polite in your advice or criticism, not insulting or rude. I didn't call out any specific poster and I was very clear in stating that the vast majority of responses were constructive and polite. The specific comments in the original thread are irrelevant to the main point. The only point in linking to the thread is to try to say I'm wrong or whining. As you go on to imply with the statement:

"Anytime you are on a open forum like reddit, there will be people who say things that you may not like. I encourage you to report posts that violate the rules"

So if a rule wasn't broken I should just keep my mouth shut. What I'm saying in this thread can't harm or insult anyone. It's constructive criticism whether I'm legitimate or not. Why does it bother you so much?
