No, that’s not what treason is.

Those are horrible things. Washington is worse for having done them and his status as a slaveholder has been whitewashed. The original Constitution baked in protections for slavery and put us on a collision course for the Civil War from the moment it was framed. And of course even free Black people were often subjected to de jure discrimination.

Yes, much hypocrisy was inherent in the founders and founding of our country. But those hypocrites did found the country. That’s quite different from taking up arms against the country that was finally, too slowly, tilting away from the abhorrent practice of slavery.
