If you could do your undergrad over again, where would you go, what would you study, and why?

I wish I would have asked the same question online before I started mine haha. I’m a PhD student in the humanities who has taken Courses / tried studying everything from math to biology to anthropology to history.

  1. don’t go to a specialized school, say a tech or art school, you are likely to change your mind about what you want to study
  2. Don’t pick a major simply because you did well in a class or the professor liked you/praised you, just because you’re good at it doesn’t mean it’s your thing
  3. Don’t enroll in classes or major in something because of external pressure e.g. don’t be a math or business major because it will make your parents happy or only because you think it will give you a high-paying job in the future, if you are meant to be a math or business person you will know, anyways most people I know learned the code they needed for their jobs outside of their major ! Aka don’t force anything
  4. I really believe if you are passionate about something enough, you can make money / be successful from it, so choose wisely what you decide to study, if you choose for yourself and no one else you can never regret it
