Place is fertile as fuck, anything you plan will grow really, although that may cease with climate change, but there is no way to predict really.

Yummy game like deers and wild pigs roaming around, there is more of each than there are people on the island. The waters around the island are teeming with fish and large fishing boats can't access it due to the lagoon surrounding the island and shallow waters in said lagoon, so only small fishing boats can fish here.

Also the place is mountainous with peaks up to 2500m so not going to be underwater with sea levels rising.
