I donno where I should write this comment replying both to you and Sencinping, but I need to clarify a couple of things

First; Its not Gabriel, it is Moses who asked Muhammad Peace be upon them both to ask God to lighten the decree upon this Ummah, and this went on for several times until prayer became 5 after they were 50, and its a long Hadith in the story of Israa and Miraj, sahih bukhari

Second; God knows everything, he knew prayers will be five only, and this is what is and always been written

Third; This happened to show us that we should always ask God for mercy and for lighting our hardships. And to show us God’s grace upon us that he made 5 prayers enough and giving Thawab of 50 inshallah.

Forth; Religious acts are taking as they are from God, there is wisdom in everything surely, whether we realise it or not, if we do, great ! , if we don’t, we have to obey.
