If you ever called the cops on your neighbors, why and what happened?

I called the cops on a neighbor one time about three years ago and I still feel bad. In my defense I did not realize it was my neighbor at the time. He was about mid twenties and he got into a fight with his mom that he lived with, who was my neighbor three doors down, so he decided to park his car in front of my house and live in it for a few days.

I didn't recognize him or his car, so I walked up to the car after he had just been sitting in front of my house for a few hours to ask if he was ok. He didn't answer me and instead drove off. About a half hour later he was back in front of my house sipping a 40 oz malt liquor.

I decided to call the cops, which I really don't like to do, but they showed up and spoke to him and then called me and said he was my neighbor and was having problems at home and was just trying to stay out of the house for awhile.

It only lasted one more evening and I am glad he didn't get locked up for DUI. He was just going through some shit at home and I was the closest neighbor with a big tree out front that shaded his car from the summer heat.
