If everyone is so aware of what a disgusting human being Terry Richardson is, how is he still a successful photographer and why hasn't he been prosecuted?

What I am not okay with is the complete lack of consequences for those that escape criminal justice. Boycotts must absolutely be on the table.

I don't agree on that. I don't think it's beneficial to anyone to have a separate vigilante justice system that operates alongside the real justice system. Especially when as you say you want that vigilante justice system to operate without the burden of strict requirements in regards to due process and evidence. I think in stead of operating a vigilante justice system and letting the internet decide based on hearsay who's guilty, we should focus on making the actual justice system work better for rape victims and on taking steps to help avoid these cases of rape altogether.

What it does mean is that we recognize that sexual abuse is rampant within the fashion industry,

I don't know the facts about how rampant sexual abuse is in the fashion industry. I don't think anyone does, because most cases go unreported. All I know is a handful of high profile media cases. More than in the accounting world, fewer than in the catholic church. Probably similar to the numbers in the entertainment industry and professional sports.

I do agree that every case is one too many, and we should do everything we can to prosecute offenders to the fullest extent of the law. We also should make it easier for victims to come forward and make sure that they are taken seriously. And most importantly we should support measures and good practices that can help stop abuse happening in the first place. I don't think any of those things are controversial.

What I am not in favour of however is trial by internet, in the same way that I don't support the vigilante lynchings of alleged pedophiles. As bad as rape or child rape is, ruining an innocent man's life by brandishing him a rapist is not helping anyone.

We need to have greater expectations from all parties involved in these activities in recognizing consent.

Again, agreed.

Even if no criminal activity has occurred, this is recklessly irresponsible and that alone is enough to get me to boycott a photographer.

Fair enough. But saying Richardson didn't take adequate precautions is not the same as saying Richardson systematically raped models. This is what I mean by the clarity that gets lost in a vigilante justice system. I agree with you on the precautions part, but I don't agree that rape has been sufficiently proven in this particular case.
