If the father of your child is still active in their life and paying child support, you’re not a single mother, you’re a single woman.

That’s not what I said at all. I said you should consider yourself lucky to that you have two parents in the picture but like I said, I still understand that divorce is an awful thing.

I’m not playing “oppression olympics” because in all honesty I think my life was amazing with a single mother. I’m really close to my mum because of it and I feel like it made me more independent as a person.

My reasoning for replying to you wasn’t to say “oh I’m worse off than you” because I’m probably not from what you described. It was to show that being a single mum is considerably different then just being a single woman and man with your other half still in the picture and should be treated as such.

Everyone has their share of problems no matter what their family or financial status.
