If we finally managed to simulate a fully functioning human brain in a computer but we were unable to plug in any sensory experience what do you think would happen?

I think it’s very likely that without sensory input then the poor sod in the electric box would become very unstable very quickly. You need a strong mind to not go batshit crazy when all your senses are not working. Also what about sense of time. I think you’d have to try and give the mind as little up time as possible. Actually if you read the book series bobiverse then they kind of go into this about having a human mind in a box with no sensory input. It’s interesting for sure. I think much like in the book. The major difference from the book and your proposal though is that in the book they can experience time at a different pace compared to normal humans.
