If you had $600 to your name, and were about to be homeless. How would you spend this money to guarantee the ability to live?

Have you considered joining a Church, or other place of worship?

Churches, Synagogues, and Mosques all do significant charity work and will be extremely likely to help someone who contributes in kind to their community. Churches are most likely to be welcoming (especially in the US), but if you have Jewish heritage Synagogues will occasionally bend over backwards in an attempt to help you put your life together and settle down with a nice Jewish girl to have oodles of Jewish babies. Not so sure about the policies of Mosques, but the local one near me definitely does some charity work in the community, though they primarily focus on helping their own, similar to my experience with Synagogues.
