If you like quality Gundam content, consider joining us over at /r/MobileSuitGundam! (post approved by the moderators)

Then why'd you start /r/GundamJerk of all things? And what about /r/ThreeTimesFaster, /r/Gunpla, /r/Mecha, /r/GundamWing, /r/GundamExVs, /r/GBO2, /r/GundamBattle, /r/BuildFightSystem, /r/Gundank, /r/GundamMemes, and /r/UniversalCentury?

That was just a fun project and was made for a very specific type of post that wouldn't stay up on /r/gundam anymore. It's also dead, along with most of those subs furthering my point. Additionally, most of those subs are for niche things, not almost the exact same thing /r/gundam is for.

Mind you, a number of them share moderators with /r/Gundam so they could have merged... but they didn't. I don't think /r/MobileSuitGundam will hurt the main subreddit when these other ones already existed. Not only that, I try to crosspost to /r/Gundam when possible so it's not like others are missing out.

And the /r/gundam mods don't really bother with them anymore. The /r/gundam mod team has grown over the years to better handle the sub

I suppose I could have used less loaded words to describe the situation but in the end, they like Gundam more casually than users like me. Why do I have to sit through content and convos that I don't care for on an existing subreddit when I can start one that has what I'm looking for? That's why subreddits like /r/TrueAnime exist, right?

Even rephrased this comes across as part of the toxic portion of anime fans bro. As for seperate subreddits, again, it's different for large subs vs small subs. A subreddit that sees not even 10 posts a day doesn't really need sister subs just for the sake of a few people not enjoying the content.
