Lol I had an RN while on nights document in the chart that the pt was experiencing 10/10 pain and that MD “XYZ” aware, no new orders given”. I asked her how long ago she gave the Toradol that was ordered as a PRN… she said that she will not give it to the pt because she didn’t want to “bottom out [their] BP”…
I genuinely couldn’t believe it lol. I told her to give the meds as prescribed and assured her she could ask me (or Pharmacy!) if she has questions about side effects in the future. Sometimes I feel like a consultant to nurses while on nights.
PS: And No, absolutely nothing in this Pts history nor symptoms included anything related to BP lol
