If you purchased Mentality polish in the last year, please read.

I am truly sickened by their response and lack of accountability. It also pisses me off they are trying to blame the company they used their base for, which caused panic in the indie community because no one was sure it other brands might be affected.

I have lost a nail before, for (I hope - it has honestly been too long for me to remember which polish I had been wearing on my toes at that time) unrelated reasons. Nail beds that are burned and /or no longer protected because of lifted nails, are much more prone to infection. My toenail was damaged, became infected, and the nail began to lift off. I had to go to the Emergency Room because I didn't have health insurance at the time (this was prior to healthcare.gov). I waited 5 hours to be seen as my problem was not an emergency. My nail was cut off halfway down the nail bed, and I was given antibiotics, as well as instructions on how to bandage and clean the affected area. Then the bill....well, let's just say I am glad I had a rainy day fund put away. My toe nail grew back in, but it is still damaged. The nail currently is lifted again, and I am being very cautious as to keep it from becoming infected again. I don't wear nail polish on my toes anymore because I am still not positive what happened. I am just relieved only one toe was damaged, and I was still able to work at my job despite the accommodations I needed during the time my toe was healing.

My point is, my injury was expensive, and still hasn't healed completely two years later. I cannot believe Mentality (or any of their little minions) would ignore and deny the seriousness of the medical damage happening. Aside from the medical damage, people could potentially lose their jobs if they are unable to work with their hands or use their feet (ex. Working somewhere that open toe shoes are prohibited, or working with food).
