If I read one more mainstream media article that says “Don’t eat the Beyond Burger because its not healthier, you may as well have a regular burger” I’m going to scream. YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT!!!!

Well the question is what processed means to you though. Tofu is clearly processed—soybeans don’t come out of the ground like that—but it’s also clearly a healthy food. Cooking itself is a process.

Processed doesn’t mean bad or unhealthy. Some processing can even help free certain nutrients our bodies would otherwise have a tough time getting at in plant-based foods. Some processing IS generally unhealthy, like frying, but it isn’t all bad. I personally would love to know more about how products like Beyond meat are made, but just because they come in a package and aren’t straight from the ground does not mean they’re unhealthy.
