If reptime isn't about flexing, why are we so worried about what watch is closest to gen?

I'm going to come in on a different approach and say that I use mine to get treated better by businesses who are looking to assign me a priority level based on my appearance (car dealerships, high-end stores, fancy restaurants). I have nice gen watches, but my nicest tops out at around $900. My reps on the other hand look like they're worth ten times that and people pick up on that. Multiple times I have gone to European car dealership with serious interest in a vehicle only to be completely ignored and straight up brushed off if I make contact. Throw on the Panerai or Cartier and suddenly I'm Customer #1. I actually ended up getting a vehicle at a German auto dealer that didn't need to be convinced into talking to me, but that's an aside.

It's a game. They're looking to shove me into a category based on a quick glance at my appearance, so I'm going to trick them into treating me like a real person. Can't do that with a bad rep.
