If S. Demirtas sat with you on a table, what would you do?

It would resemble a Quentin Tarantino film.

I introduce myself as a Turkish citizen concerned about Demirtaş's politics and ask a few questions about his goals for Turkey. Responding in his usual charismatic fashion, he says, "HDP is a party of peace and democracy. We plan to reshape Turkey through our principles of egalitarianism and solidarity with the oppressed." I tell him that in speeches directed toward Turkish liberals and the international press, his political language indeed appears progressive and peaceful; however, those delivered to his base appear to inspire violence. I further note his refusal to condemn PKK attacks and I press him on his various acts of treason, asking why he would meet with Turkey's enemies.

"Look," he replies, "Everything I do is with the best intentions --"

I interrupt by pulling out the pistol my great-grandfather used in Gallipoli and I shoot Demirtaş's two bodyguards in their faces, leaving them both dead before hitting the ground. As I reload, I turn back to Demirtaş, who realizes he is fucked. "Oh I'm sorry," I tell him, "Did I break your concentration? Please continue. You were saying something about best intentions." Demirtaş gulps, and I say, "Oh you were finished! Well, allow me to retort. There's this passage in the Qur'an I got memorized:

"Those that make war against God and His apostle and spread disorder in the land shall be put to death or crucified or have their hands and feet cut off on alternative sides, or be banished from the land. They shall be held up to shame in this world and sternly punished in the hereafter: except those that repent before you reduce them. For you must know that God is forgiving and merciful. Believers, have fear of God and seek the right path to Him. Fight valiently for His cause, so that you may triumph. As for the unbelievers, if they offered all that the earth contains and as much besides to redeem themselves from the torment of the Day of Resurrection, it shall not be accepted from them. Woeful punishment awaits them. They will strive to get out of the Fire, but get out of it they shall not. Lasting punishment awaits them."

I then proceed to spray Demirtaş with bullets as Turkish folk music plays in the background. I store my pistol back in its safe so that one of my future descendants too can defend the country.
