If SHTF, the biggest threat won’t be from strangers. It will be from neighbors, acquaintances or even family.

Too many imagine a tight-knit little suburban block party with hamburgers and cold beers. I've got news for you- when the SHTF, those "friends" will not be farming your backyard or watching your back as you catch some z's. City dwellers will be the first to succumb to chaos and anarchy, soon followed by all the wannabe tough guys in the suburbs with their dad-bods, Ford F-150s, and AR-15s. The neighbor across the way that you wave to when checking the mail? He is now your competition for food and what few remaining resources can be scrounged up. He can hear your generator. He can smell your food. If he's hungry, he will take what's yours, it's only a matter of time.

The harsh truth is that nobody outside of a rural setting will survive. Even those lucky enough to escape better realize that their "friends" have designs on what's yours, and what benefits them most.

Anarchy and chaos are not the glue that keep friends together. You underestimate human nature at your own peril. If the SHTF, get far away from people, and do it fast. Bring a good hunting dog.
