If someone is shot in the right lung do you roll the person onto their right side so their right lung fills with blood leaving the left unscathed and able to breathe or do you roll them onto their left side?

I would have to see the video to guess at what they were doing. However blood isn’t going to transfer from left to right like you think. If the person is awake just sit them up. If they unconscious put them in the recovery position.

If they have blood in their lungs from hemopneumothorax you would need to do a thoracotomy which is basically putting a catheter in and drain blood out of the lung. Tension pneumothorax is basically the same thing except with air, not blood. Apply a seal if it’s a sucking chest would, needle chest decompression and call it a day.

Due to the science of what is actually happening with hemo/pneumothorax, it doesn’t matter if they are on their left or right upside down or right side up. The end result is the same with proper care. Just don’t put their legs above their head.
