I like it very much, it’s an allegory about creating art, where artists don’t know where their genius is coming from. Where does his real essence ends and the parasite beings? Often artists have hidden traumas that spurs them on, they would be happier without it, but they can’t expel it, without losing the ability to create. I would make him question at one point where it is truly him and kind of getting jealous of the parasite, in this phase he could try to fend it off and of course his success swindles, so he submits again. In one sense the ending is not sad, but a triumph. Also is he really dead on the end or aware? it could be difficult to change from 3POv limited to allknowing at the end, that often feels clunky. If he is still aware in some sense that he is a piece of art now, standing in an exhibition, the writing would feel smoother. Also, does the Parasite plans to infect one of the fresheyed young artists who visits the gallery? Great concept!
