If there is a gender pay gap for the same job, why would employers even hire men since they have to pay them more for the same job?

Reading comments from other women that were paid far less in their field is so discouraging. I know with my current job I was actually paid more than my male coworkers because they finally decided to up the pay to avoid so much turnover and inexperienced people. So while I am paid more and quickly worked my way into management, I instead receive praise for every little thing I do that the men in my job receive no praise for. Everyone is wildly impressed I drive a the truck, forklift, can maneuver pallet jacks like they’re an extension of my body, and can fling pallets with the rest of them. “You’re so strong!” is a common thing I hear. Yes, I am, but you don’t need to be surprised about it because I’m a woman.
