If I wanted to multi class a open hand monk how should I do it?

Paladin monk is the shit.

Access to bless, heals, shield of faith, etc

Gives smite which brings the crappy monk DPS up to at least par with other builds.

Open hand is the way to go panda monk style with grapple, move, jump, fall, flurry

First attack assign as grapple, move 10 ft, jump in the air, fall (you will take no damage but your target will and then falls prone), finish with all attacks while they are prone and grappled.

Use smite as many times as needed while they are down.

On their turn they will not be able to stand up because their movement is 0, so they will be forced to do their actions while prone or waste an action trying to escape.

This build benefits from anything that increases your movement, grapple skill bonus, and jump distance.

Boots of striding and springing are excellent

The new athletic feat would be a good add for double prof in athletics. Maybe the core athlete feat, but it's not the greatest.

(grappler sucks never take it)

Mage slayer and sentinel are also useful with this build.

Mobile is very useful at increasing your movement/jump distance.

Bugbear makes a fun race for this build with extra reach and increased carry as well as Goliath, varient human is also good to get mobile right away or get sentinel early.
