If you were hypothetically going to inherit a lot of money, how would you leverage that to your personal success?

Congratulations on your lucky circumstances.

Honestly, I think the most valuable thing your money will buy you is time to spend on learning the industry and building your skills.

A major factor for getting ahead in this industry, after a baseline of competence, is relationships. I would suggest using your resources to put yourself in a position to build such relationships as you continue to improve your skills. The two are equally important.

You should think about moving to LA/Toronto/London/Berlin or your region's equivalent musical centre. This industry is highly localized to a few major cities, and trying to break in from the outside is going to be tough. Even though you can send sessions back and forth over the internet, people prefer to work with people they can see face to face.

Spend as much time as you can working with other good artists, producers, and engineers. In my experience, this is the fastest way to get better. You will fill the gaps in each others' knowledge.

The suggestion other people are making about creating a space for fostering other people's talent is not a bad idea. I know some very well connected people who have gotten where they are in large part because they hosted the place that a lot of young talented people hung out at. Doing people that favour puts you in a good position, as well as just being a nice thing to do.

I would not suggest starting a studio, label, or venue until you have experience in the industry. Many are going out of business. You have to really be on your shit to make it work with the current state of things.
