If the Yankees miss out on Harper/Machado

I'm a little taken aback by some of the shit that's flying around. Do people not realize how FA players work? Or that no matter how much Hal stamps his little feet and says "no no no" mega superstar contracts will still happen. THEY ARE NOT FUCKING MADE TO BE A GOOD VALUE LATE IN THE CONTRACT. You pay for elite ++ production up front. The Yankees do not fucking need to be hamstrung by any contracts, stop eating the propaganda, Hal is not struggling rn.

They will simply not sign any tip top free agents with this attitude of offering similar AAV but shorter contract. I'm so fucking heated right now. We have waited for this offseason for literally YEARS and the perception now is that we won't get any of our guys.

I'm so fucking sick of spending a fortune going to that shitty new stadium with it's terrible monotone concessions and weirdo ushers.

Watch, as soon as the offseason ends, Hal will be giving interviews about how "we viewed Giancarlo as acquiring a comparable player a year early." They were cool with taking on Stanton who is 3 years older and taking him until 38. Not Harper or Machado who would be around until ~35.

I don't know if I'm making sense but I fucking feared this would happen. We still have a very good team but we are contenders, nothing more, when we could be favorites.
