My spouse manages a multiple divisions of employees for a large corporation. By executives, they were given a fraction of what is necessary to provide raises to employees and told to call it "merit raises", where some employees get nothing, and some get up to 2.5%. All while executives have become some of the wealthiest people in the world. The employees have generated massive returns, massive amounts of wealthy, and the people at the top are taking it all. All while inflation has devalued people's purchasing power on their wages by +25%. Even worse, a lot of people aren't thinking this through, their lifetimes of savings have lost +25% of it's purchasing power. People are getting ruined by this bullshit, and in part, a large part, it's because a handful of individuals at the top of companies all believe they are entitled to millions, billions even, in the wealth we all created. The system is broken, the exploitation and greed has reached unprecedented levels, and it's no wonder that people are no longer crunching out overtime and working like oppressed peasants when nothing can be gained because the select few at the top have taken it all.
