I'm sure you mean Fortnite, but LoL is still a bigger game by volume and certainly more successful considering time and establishment.
And even so if fortnite is big it doesn't mean it's shop system is ideal either.
The items that Fortnite has rotate every 24 hours and major items come up every 72 Hours, PLUS they offer a static rewards system that cycles every season.
Just because this system for one game works for them, it doesn't mean it doesn't have it's downfalls. One of the reason why this system works is that every character in fortnite is treated simply as a skin. No item is for a specifically 1 singular character. Each outfit and equipable item is universal.
QC's weapons are universal but the armors are character specific.
Just like LoL.
The biggest downfall of fortnite's system, is something I touched on previously. It doesn't work in long term sales. Burst Sales on limited items do certainly sell things, but it falls to allow other buyers to partisipate. Like I said, this is why I've spent hundreds to thousands on MMOs and LoL, but only 30$ in similar time frames for fortnite. And that's heavily due to the fact that items were never in stock for me to buy them.
A far better system that serves ALL users, is when a system allows Limited time discounts, but all the items are still avalible for purchase in the static shop.
This is exactly what retailers do, and it's been an absolute definitive success across many markets, including video games.
This is how LoL runs their releases. First releases are discounted, then after they go back up to full price to allow the rest of the customer base to have eventual access to them.
This model also better enables people to impulse buy over time. If something isn't in stock, someone can't buy it. So you make a lot of sales upfront, then you lose all sales afterwards.
Where as if it's always in stock, and the rush purchasers have already bought what they want, the rest of the consumer base is now able to get the item that some people have already.
This is the model that fits QC better.
