If you're shopping the Sears liquidation sales, please remember that the employees are people too!

I am staying away from Sears because I don't think I could possibly handle going in there without setting the place on fire.

My family's business is going under because of Sears. They owe the business millions of dollars for merchandise they purchased and are now withholding payment until the liquidation goes through, at which point they will be paying pennies on the dollar.

This is a Canadian business, been around for 30+ years. You may think it's a huge company when you hear "millions of dollars" but it really isn't, and at the end of the day, the company cannot survive this. Sears was a huge chunk of the business, and regardless, losing millions of dollars worth of revenues AND merchandise is not something we can survive. We have already had to downsize and lay off most of the staff (dozens near retirement age, good luck to them finding something else). I don't think my dad has paid himself in over a year.

But I get it, you are losing your job too. So I will stay far away because the anger I have towards Sears is really strong and in the moment, I'm not sure I could control my temper.
