If JJ had an idea for what he wanted Luke to do with the saber HE WOULD'VE DONE IT HIMSELF. Seriously, have you guys not caught on yet? Abrams can't do anything but make empty promises. He never delivers on anything he sets out on. If he really wanted Luke to do something g with the saber, all it would take is a few seconds more of footage.

Like, he could've had Luke activate it and point in the air like on the original poster. That would've been what, 30 seconds more of footage? Anything like that could've happened, if Abrams wanted it.

JJ simply has no interest in resolution. He sets up a house of cards, then books it before it falls over.
