I'll Never 'Understand' the People Who Cheer for This Maniac

I don't want to assume, but is it possible you're a guy? I'm of a similar age and a child of the internet but my experience with internet culture is very very different.

The communities i was part of were normally immensely supportive, creative and caring. There was a lot of making art for each other writing stories, silly animation and some pretty ground breaking web comics. Except for the occasional online creepster everyone would band together to block, games were mostly silly conversations and fun. But i was playing shit like pictionary and shockwave games. I literally found a child quilting circle and we would mail shitty hand stitched squares across the country to other strangers.

Obviously there are asshole women online, and drama exists everywhere, but i feel like there is this very aggressive, cruel and particularly male part of the internet that has begun to seep into everything.

I didn't realize at the time that most of the communities i was a part if were primarily women, but i have to wonder if early self segregation of online communities has effected the kind of open racism and sexism that Trump embraces.
