I've been selling on eBay since I was a teenager. You'd think eBay would crack down on this shit, but they're like roaches - they've been around since the beginning.

I personally sold the digital codes to collectible pins from a little game called Destiny. The codes could be redeemed for coveted in-game emblems, shaders, etc.

The problem was that players outside the US didn't want to pay the cost of shipping for a physical pin they had no interest in - they just wanted the digital code itself.

So I bought a ton of pins from Bungie's stores for $15 each, scratched off all of the codes and created a spreadsheet, then auctioned the physical pins on eBay individually for $60, sometimes $90, each.

Buyers would then email me saying they had no interest in the pin, but asked if I would just email the code directly. It was a win-win-win for me because I didn't have to pay shipping at all, I made a dummy upcharge, and I still have a shit ton of pins.

Oh, and barely illegal. I ended up getting banned from eBay due to their policy changes.
