I'm a 1.75mill OTP Zoe and I only just discovered this subreddit?! *gasp*

"Yeah, weird you are the only one mentioning it. It's such a bad item, I'm pretty sure it doesn't give you more dmg, especially as a second item. I'll try to find some time to do some maths on that. In addition, shadowflame sucks in almost every situation, the whole post loses a lot of credibility for me"
I end up vs a lot of match-ups that use shields - for whatever reason it feels like I'm able to absolutely devour tanks!
This was not the case - and the only thing has changed was the ability to have more pen.
The true damage just rips people apart.
Maybe I'm missing a change that happened that made Zoe stronger?! but I mean, I don't really know what else to make of it.
As for Lich-bane - Again, I have to ask, how many hours do you have on Zoe? - Maybe we play completely different than one another? but - a situation that I can't imagine us not "Both being in" at some point or another as a zoe player - Is needed the extra auto damage - Mind you, it also helps you secure creeps, sieges (having an early sheen) - and win trades while not needing to use a lot of mana.
Mana being the main factor here.
I don't know about you but I'm literally throwing Q/R/E Bombs + Lich bane proc + first strike and I'm seeing people just pop.
Also, another factor about Lich and that's movement speed.
The more the better as zoe - In fact, have you ever tried playing her around runspeed? I've tried almost every combination of items - with the exception to the most recent changes - I've found success in many - Including pred - Including smite (last season before the changes) - you name it - I've tried it.
The movement speed allows you to weave in Q's from a distance without showing ANY animation that a star is following you.
You're able to safely weave in and out of engages + ludens proc - without consuming a ton of mana and totally count people off guard. Not to mention you can follow that up with a R-E and finish them.
"Except he’s a p4 50% wr zoe, it’s rly just not faker material"
Anyhow, I really don't know how this became a discussion about my winrate - I don't play this game to make it to master - I play this game only because I enjoy Zoe - I was born with a mind for her kit and it's simply the most appeasing playstyle out there.
