I'm 23 years old with 263 dollars to my name and starting today I'm officially homeless..

ive been in the same boat

I tried to join the military but fortunely they didnt take me because of multiple medical handicaps

I ended up sharing a cheap apartment with a couple other minumum wage employees when I got a job at krogers and slowly worked my way back up, look for older burned out minimum wagers, they are most likely to need the partnership and least likely to advance out of it before you do, preferably potheads but no harder drugs, they are easy going and pot is cheap enough they wont need to steal your shit. dont smoke with them. not alchoholics because they are assholes and will be a drag on your mental state.

my advice is to just keep building your skillset, always be courteous and professional, NEVER STEAL (this is literally the only thing you have to not do to be eligible for many promotions starting off) , keep pursuing new positions and eventually you will be back in comfort

I was homeless in 2002 with thousands in debt and less than 10 years later I owned over a million in assets and had 800 plus credit score, I did have the benefit of a few caring friends though who helped me out at times

I got into a car accident which gave me a boost actually also at just the right time.. the insurance paid off 3400 on a used car I got for 1200

I bought a new suit and kept the wrecked car for 600 salvage cost and got a better job in the new suit

when I started to do a bit better off I saved every penny and started investing in real estate, I built a couple houses and fixed some up, sold some, rented others. I used a company called ownerbuildernetwork to learn the basics and to get help with loans

my advice is to remember clearly how quickly and easily you can wind up homeless, rely on others as little as possible, especially family, and always be planning ahead and weighing risks vs rewards. if your worried you will be fired start looking for a new job immediately, never leave a job unless you have a new one, and if you are fired always lie and say you are still employed but that you are just looking for what else is out there, try to negotiate a 5k to 10k increase in pay a year or a 3 to 5 dollar an hour raise each time you change jobs even if you are fired, try not to seem desperate in higher paying jobs even if you are, they will not hire you

wear glasses to interviews at office jobs even if you dont need them they will assume you are smarter, and wear a suit to the interview

in the immediate, dont be afraid to be miserable but dont let it overwhelm you all the time, and dont drink. I would sometimes cry and sob and sing the blues at night but you have to bust your ass during the day

also dont let parasitical people hold you back, there will be plenty of people who say you cant do something or that you are worthless and who will deliberately sabotage you, in my case, mostly family. just ignore them and distance yourself from them. the world has alot of pitfalls and obstacles but once you recognize what they are they are easier to avoid and even in the declining state of society and the economy you can still easily make it, it just takes time, persistence, some hard work, and a willingness to learn and grow
